It’s 115 outside!!! I actually suffered through it and went out to buy fabric for my rug – the one picture here. What you see is one jelly roll, woven as the strips come off the rolls. For you non-quilters – jelly rolls are these really colorful collections of fabrics that are cut 2-1/2 inches wide and the width of the fabric. They are always color-coordinated so it makes it fun to weave with. Not the least expensive way to do rag rugs but fun. I am now going to do a plainer lavender/purple body to the rug and end with a matching jelly roll. Years ago I took a class from Heather Allen on weaving rag rugs and then painting on them with fabric dyes. That is the current plan for the middle of the rug. Stay tuned for future developments
